Tim Schmidt has spoken globally for over 20 years, inspiring audiences from Bali to Boston and Malaysia to Minneapolis.  His unique life experiences as the son of an international teacher and adventurer has prepared him to inspire and disrupt entrepreneurs, executives and clients with his life wisdom, insightful humor and courageous accountability.

Facts about Tim:

• Grew up in Hong Kong for 11 years of his youth.

​

• He has had a successful career in the financial services profession for 34 years – from being a top 5% financial planner in 1987 to working directly with the CEO of a Fortune 300 company.  His financial planning firm consistently ranked in the top 250 in the world.  He also made numerous mistakes!  

​

• Life balance and adventure has always been a passion of his.  Many of his adventures you will hear about in his Keynote presentations.

  • Received his sailing Helmsman Certificate, at age 11, in the South China Sea in Hong Kong.

  • Summited Mt Rainier in Washington state in 2010 with his son Jon. 

    • That same year, 6 climbers died due to weather, and poor decision making.  Numerous business applications were unearthed.  

  • Scaled the rock face of Half Dome in Yosemite with his family.

  • Walked the pilgrimage of Camino de Santiago in Southern Spain with a few close friends. 

  • Bicycled through France, with his wife, to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.

• He is past president of the GAMA International  – overseeing the leadership development of the financial services profession worldwide. 

​

• In 2010, Tim wrote a book called What Really Works – researching the 7Fs -   Faith | Family | Finances | Fitness | Friends | Fun | Future, where they surveyed 1,500 people representing every continent to discover habits of human flourishing. He conducted 80 personal interviews with highly successful entrepreneurs, CEOs, and non-profit executives that were flourishing -  scoring a 9 or 10 on one of the 7Fs.

• Today, Tim is Founder of DRYDOCK Consulting – Numerous organizations have engaged Tim’s Keynote expertise worldwide.  Tim also runs a mature Executive Coaching practice of CEOs, Emerging Leaders, Business Successors and Faith-Based Leaders.
